You would have to go back to the beginning of January to find a day when Wisconsin has had as many tests for COVID-19 return positive. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services Tuesday said 3,633 people tested positive for the virus in the latest batch of test results. The 7-day average for new cases is nearing 3,000 at 2,967 new cases per day. Seventeen more deaths were also reported putting the death toll since the pandemic began at 7,854 lives lost. Another 165 people were also hospitalized with the coronavirus.

Winnebago County Tuesday reported 40 new COVID-19 cases as it nears 21,000 total cases since the health crisis began. Eighty new cases were recorded in Fond du Lac County and Dodge County had 31 new cases. Green Lake County surpassed 2,000 total cases and now has 2,001 after reporting 32 new cases and 1 death. Waupaca County had 11 new cases and Waushara County recorded 34 new COVID cases.
