8 September 2021 News

Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services says there were fewer new COVID-19 cases, deaths and hospitalizations over the holiday weekend, but that is the same trend the department saw in the days after Christmas, New Year’s, and the 4th of July. The DHS identified 788 new cases Monday for an average of 1,583 new cases over the last seven days. There was one death to bring the death toll from the virus to 7,667 lives lost. The state reported an average of 72 hospitalizations over the 3-day weekend. The Wisconsin Hospital Association reported a total of 1,045 hospitalizations Tuesday from the coronavirus the most since January 13th. Of those patients 315 were in intensive care units.

Winnebago County reported 4 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday. Fond du Lac County reported 91 new cases since last Friday and Dodge County had 13 new cases yesterday. Four new cases were reported in Green Lake County, 5 news cases in Waushara County, and none in Waupaca County.
