Brief Vehicle Chase In The Town Of Metomen

Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials say no one was hurt and no property was damaged during a 2.5 mile vehicle pursuit on Sheldon Road and Dixon Road in the Town of Metomen early Saturday evening. The 71-year-old Fond du Lac County man driving the vehicle fleeing from a Sheriff’s deputy drove into a private driveway and into some tall grass by an outbuilding before fleeing on foot. He was later spotted in a passing van and that van was stopped and the man was taken into custody. The 46-year-old Fond du Lac County man driving the van knew the suspect and is facing charges for aiding the man. The deputy was trying to pull the suspect over for a speeding violation when he fled just after 5 pm Saturday.
