Bicyclist Struck By SUV In Dodge County

Dodge County Sheriff’s officials say a 48-year-old Florida man was seriously injured late Saturday morning when his bicycle collided with an SUV at the intersection of State Highway 33 and Peachy Road in the Town of Beaver Dam. He was wearing a helmet but sustained serious injuries. He was taken to the Marshfield Medical Center in Beaver Dam and from there was flown to the UW-Hospital in Madison. The 52-year-old Beaver Dam man driving the SUV was not hurt in the mishap. Investigators say the Florida man was heading north on State Highway 33 and the driver of the SUV was heading west on Peachy Road and stopped at a stop sign to turn south onto Highway 33 and struck the bicyclist when he entered the intersection. The time of the accident was 11:19 am.
