COVID Booster Likely

A member of the Ripon Community COVID-19 Task Force is hoping people will follow through with a booster shot for COVID-19 if health experts recommend it. Jeff Puhlmann-Becker says it is looking more likely there will be a recommendation to get a booster shot eight months after you completed your series of vaccinations. But he says for now it is only recommended for the immunocompromised, which is as it should be. He doesn’t believe there will be the same rush for a booster shot that we saw when the vaccines were originally offered. Puhlmann-Becker says research suggests 97 percent of those who end up in the hospital with the coronavirus weren’t vaccinated and 99 percent of those who died of COVID didn’t get the vaccine.
