Road Rage Suspect Claims Self Defense
The 56-year-old Downers Grove, Illinois man suspected of shooting at a semi-truck during a road rage incident on State Highway 23 near Fond du Lac County Highway M claimed he was just defending himself. According to the criminal complaint Bradley Skoog told a Sheriff’s deputy the truck was trying to run off him the road and had been tailgating him. Both vehicles passed each other at some point during the incident the night of Saturday, August 14th. Skoog told the deputy he wasn’t going to let a 40,000-pound rig run him off the road and shot into the air and at the trailer of the truck to let the driver know not to mess with him. The truck driver told deputies he did pass Skoog’s vehicle about a mile east of the intersection with County Highway KK because Skoog had slowed to 45 miles an hour. The driver said at that point they heard four gunshots. Three bullet holes were found in the truck’s trailer. Skoog returns to court for a preliminary hearing Friday.
Ripon Senior Center Trailhead Building Project Taking Shape
Ripon Senior Activity Center Executive Director Noreen Johnson says the Senior Center Trailhead Building Project in Murray Park is starting to take shape. They haven’t approved everything but that’s where we are going from.” Johnson says they are looking to have a building that whole community can use. The City has a good portion of the funding in position for the building and is hoping to get a Community Development Grant for the project. Last Monday, Johnson, City Administrator Adam Sonntag, and a representative of MSA held a community input session at the City Hall for those who wanted to comment on the project of find out more about it.
Summertime Improvements

She says it gives them a chance to work in some changes and safety training as well. “We did a lot of work with our bus company Lamers. We always do safety training in the summer. We’ve done things with reunification and trauma first aid, drug prevention and just standard procedures for evacuation and holds and secures and that sort of thing.” But she says it’s nearly time to get back to school. She stresses the importance of students attending their orientation sessions on Monday and Tuesday, August 30th and 31st depending on where your name falls in the alphabet. Classes will begin on Wednesday, September 1st.

Congressman Grothman On Infrastructure Bill
Congressman Glenn Grothman says if they take up an infrastructure bill in the House this week it likely won’t be anything like the one passed by the U.S. Senate. He says the bill House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is considering would spend $550 billion over the next five years for roads, bridges, broadband expansion, and public works systems, but only about a fifth of the bill will actually be spent on what he considers infrastructure. “The problem is it is a very large spending bill and a relatively small amount is what your listeners would describe as infrastructure. Normally what I think of as infrastructure is roads and bridge, maybe some locks and dams that sort of thing.” The federal lawmaker from Glenbeulah says he won’t vote for a bill that’s going to add another $3 trillion to the national debt.
