The state’s Department of Health Services Wednesday reported 12 counties in Wisconsin are seeing “Very High” levels of COVID-19 activity. The other 60 counties aren’t lagging far behind with “High” levels of activity. The DHS says the 7-day average for new cases of the coronavirus is now at 1,224. Meanwhile 16 more deaths were reported leaving the state 1 shy of a total of 7,500 lives lost during the pandemic. Another 115 people were hospitalized with COVID. The Wisconsin Hospital Association says there are now 727 COVID patients in hospitals around the state with 221 in intensive care units.
Winnebago County reported 31 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday. Thirty-four new cases were reported in Fond du Lac County and Dodge County had 31 new cases. Six new cases were recorded in Green Lake County. Waupaca County had 10 new cases and 2 deaths and Waushara County 3 new cases and 1 death.
