Missing Child Found Safe In Dodge County

A missing child with special needs was found after about a 3 hour intensive search in Dodge County Sunday night. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says the 14-year-old boy is high-functioning, but had walked away from the Crystal Lake Beach Park in the Town of Beaver Dam. Tips from the public put the boy on the Wild Goose Trail, but the search was complicated when he entered a corn field. Just before 10 pm he was located in a tree stand in the middle of the corn field. He was safely reunited with his parents. The search involved boots on the ground, K9s, drones, UTVs and lighting equipment. Sheriff Schmidt expressed the family’s gratitude and praised the efforts of those involved in the search.
