Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services Thursday reported the positivity rate for new COVID-19 cases climbed back to 1 percent with 117 new cases. The 7-day average for new cases increased slightly to 71 per day. Six people also died from the coronavirus increasing the death toll since the health crisis began to 7,314 lives lost. Forty-two people were hospitalized with the virus. The Wisconsin Hospital Association says 91 people across the state are hospitalized with COVID and 30 patients are in intensive care units.
According to the DHS 48.1 percent of Winnebago County residents have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 45.1 percent are fully immunized. In Fond du Lac County those percentages are 42.9 and 40.6 percent respectively and in Dodge County they are 40.2 and 38 percent. In Green Lake County 44.9 percent of residents have gotten at least one shot in the arm and 41.9 percent are fully immunized while in Marquette County those numbers are 42.4 and 40.5 percent. Only 35.3 percent of Waushara County residents have gotten at least one dose of the vaccine and 33.9 percent are fully immunized while in Waupaca County those percentages are 43 and 40.6 percent respectively.
