Two Teens Arrested After Drug Deal Goes Bad

4 June 2021 News

Two teens were arrested on attempted first degree intentional homicide, armed robbery, battery, and first degree recklessly endangering safety charges after a marijuana deal went bad Wednesday evening in Columbia County. Sheriff Roger Brandner says a woman called to report her boyfriend was hurt after the deal turned into a rip off at the Pardeeville Road Wildlife Area in the Town of Wyocena. A pocket knife, BB gun, and 9 millimeter handgun were brandished and the victim was struck in the face with the handgun. When the caller and her boyfriend tried to leave the scene the back window of their vehicle was shot out. Nineteen-year-old Lucas Szopinski of rural Pardeeville and a 16-year-old were later arrested in Beaver Dam. The firearms and pocketknife from the incident were recovered.
