Sanitizing For COVID Has Beneficial Effects

A member of the Ripon Community COVID-19 Task Force says all the sanitizing schools and daycares have been doing during the pandemic is having a beneficial effect on the health of students and staff. Jeff Puhlmann-Becker also works for the Ripon Children’s Learning Center. He says we now know that the coronavirus doesn’t really spread through contact, but we didn’t know that during the early days of the pandemic and sanitizing is more of a precaution. But he says as a result of all of that sanitizing they’ve been seeing fewer cases of other childhood illnesses and conditions at the center.  He says the daycares require more sanitizing than the public schools do. The Ripon Children’s Learning Center has about 90 students.

Administrative Numbers Still Being Used

The administrative phone numbers for Ripon Police and Ripon Guardian Ambulance saw a change when the City of Ripon transferred dispatching to Fond du Lac County. Police Chief Bill Wallner says you can still contact the police department during regular hours on weekdays from 8 am to 4 pm for administrative questions at 748-2888, but it will ring through to the county first and if they can’t help you they will connect you with someone at the police department. EMS Chief Mitch Matuszeski says the same holds true for the administrative number of Ripon Guardian Ambulance 748-7444. The Fire Department’s non-emergency number 745-2262 will also ring through to county dispatch after hours.
