Monitoring COVID Recommendations

Each month during the past year the Ripon Area School District Board of Education has evaluated a face mask requirement considering the latest recommendations from the CDC and the Fond du Lac County Health Department. Ripon Schools Superintendent Mary Whitrock says that’s why they recently allowed students at the high school who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to go without masks or facial coverings. She says they will continue to monitor those recommendations over the summer in the event that requirements for elementary and middle school students also change. She says one thing they may continue beyond the pandemic is their extra sanitizing measures, which are protecting students and staff against more than the coronavirus.

Green Lake County Ordinance Reminder

The Green Lake County Sheriff’s Department is reminding county residents about a county ordinance which is in effect from Memorial Day through Labor Day in county parks. During that period of time no pets are allowed in county parks with violators facing a possible fine of $200.50. But the ordinance goes further than that requiring owners at all other times to have their pets on a leash or under control. There are exceptions for a guide dog, signal dog or other animal that is individually trained to accompany persons with disabilities and law enforcement K-9 animals.
