The state lawmaker from Markesan says, “The stewardship program has supported important projects in the 14th Senate District such as the Camp Grow Project in Green Lake. Preserving our beautiful natural resources is important to keeping Wisconsin a leader in outdoor tourism and recreation.” Additionally, the JFC voted to approve an additional $500,000 for Producer-Led Watershed Protection Grants and $4.4 million for County Conservation Staffing Grants. Retuning For Care

The Chief Nursing Officer for the Ripon Medical Center and Waupun Memorial Hospital says people can be confident that it is safe to return to hospitals and clinics for their medical needs. Nicole Gill says telehealth became more popular during the height of the pandemic when more restrictions were in place. She emphasizes safety precautions are still in place for in-person visits whether it is as simple as getting a physical or more important for things like medical procedures. Gill says people can also get their COVID vaccinations at the hospitals. Both hospitals are with Agnesian HealthCare, an SSM Health member.

Radio Frequency Change With Dispatch Transfer

People who follow radio frequencies on their scanner may have found a change if they follow Ripon Police, Fire or EMS on June 1st. With the three departments joining Fond du Lac County for dispatching services the trio now share different frequencies with other emergency services departments in the county. Ripon Guardian Ambulance Chief Mitch Matuszeski says since they are sharing frequencies with other departments, they had to get used to not interrupting other calls and replies that were being made during radio traffic. He says they changed over to the frequencies on June 1st so that was a very busy day, but it all got accomplished.
