Beaver Dam Man Pleads To Vehicular Homicide

A 36-year-old Beaver Dam man pled “no contest” to vehicular homicide and other charges stemming from a July 30th, 2019 accident on Dodge County Road E that killed one person and injured six others. Dustin Vandergalien was passing another vehicle when he clipped a vehicle in the other lane causing it to go in a ditch and then hit another vehicle head on. The second crash killed a man who was a passenger in that vehicle. Vandergalien admitted to officers he had been drinking before the crash and a blood test revealed he also had been doing cocaine. He had two previous operating while intoxicated convictions. A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for September 15th.
