Wisconsin passed a grim milestone Tuesday topping 600,000 total COVID-19 cases in 454 days or since the pandemic began with the first case in Madison on February 5th of last year. The state’s Department of Health Services says 600,297 people have tested positive for the virus. As for the latest results there were 721 new cases or 20 percent of the 3,520 test results that came back. The state also reported 11 more deaths putting the death toll at 6,850 lives. There were also 86 new hospitalizations. The Wisconsin Hospital Association reports 326 COVID patients in the state’s 136 hospitals with 98 of those people in intensive care units.

Winnebago County reported 20 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday. Fond du Lac County recorded 13 new cases and Dodge County had 5 new cases. Green Lake County had 1 new case and Waupaca County had 4 new cases. No new cases were reported in Marquette and Waushara counties.
