Berlin Mayor Richard Schramer won’t be serving an eighth term as the city’s mayor. Challenger Joe Bruessel got 394 votes in Tuesday’s election to Schramer’s 269.

In Oshkosh incumbent Mayor Lori Palmeri won reelection getting 4,517 votes to challenger Kris Larsen’s 4,183 votes.

Longtime Town of Eldorado Chairperson Gary Miller was reelected Tuesday getting 310 votes to defeat Bill Averbeck who received 132 votes. Village of Rosendale President Duane Ciske was unseated by Trustee Kurt Caramanidis who collected 156 votes to Ciske’s 75 votes.  

Other Election Notes

Voters in Fond du Lac passed a public safety referendum Tuesday with 68 percent voting yes to the $1.3 million referendum that will add six more police officers and six additional firefighter paramedics to the city’s ranks. The additional firefighter paramedics will allow the city to add another ambulance crew to each shift.

Fond du Lac County Republican Party Chairperson Rohn Bishop now holds a political office. Bishop won an alderperson’s race representing District 5 in the City of Waupun Tuesday. He collected 270 votes to Zachary Dickhut’s 224 votes.  

Fond du Lac County Clerk Lisa Freiberg says 29 percent of the registered voters in the county cast their ballots in the Spring Election. That worked out to 18,667 voters. In the City of Ripon 841 people or 18 percent of the registered voters cast their ballots for yesterday’s election.
