COVID Vaccine Clinics At Sunnyview This Week
No appointments are necessary for a COVID-19 vaccine clinic that will be held at the Sunnyview Expo Center in Oshkosh tomorrow. Winnebago County Health officials say the clinic will only be administering the Moderna vaccine, which is a two-dose series from 8 am to 3:45 pm. Anyone that attends tomorrow’s clinic will need to return for the second dose on May 19th to be considered fully vaccinated. The clinic is only open to those who are at least 18 years old. A second clinic offering the Moderna vaccine will also be held at Sunnyview Thursday from 9:30 am to 12:45 pm.
Kenosha Shooting Suspect Charged
Authorities in Kenosha say a man in custody for shooting and killing three men and injuring three others was involved in a bar fight before leaving and coming back with a gun. Bond was set at $4 million cash for 24-year-old Rakayo Alandis Vinson when he appeared in Kenosha County court on first degree intentional homicide charges stemming from the early Sunday morning shooting at Somers House Tavern in the village of Somers. The three people killed were identified as 24-year-old Cedric Guston, 26-year-old Atkeem Stevenson and 22-year-old Kevin Donaldson all of Kenosha.
Neenah Stabbing Death Investigated
Neenah Police are investigating a stabbing death that occurred in the city late Saturday night. An officer was called to investigate a trespassing complaint in the 200 block of Main Street and during the investigation a citizen reported a person “passed out in the grass” in the 200 block of Martens Street. When the officer located the victim the victim had blood and injuries to the upper chest. Police say the victim was beyond life-saving efforts. The victim was stabbed to death and police are investigating the death as a homicide.
Foxconn Agreement
Governor Tony Evers and Foxconn reached a new agreement regarding the company’s project in Mount Pleasant Monday. Evers says his goal all along was to find an agreement that works for Wisconsin taxpayers while providing the support Foxconn needs to be successful in the state. He says he’s grateful to the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation and Foxconn for their help working to find a solution that works for everyone. Details of the agreement with the technology group were not made available.
Second Republican Announces Run For State AG
A second Republican candidate has announced his run for State Attorney General. University of Wisconsin-Madison and LaFollette School of Public Affairs law professor Ryan Owens announced Monday he’s entering the race to unseat Democratic incumbent Josh Kaul. Owens also serves as director of the Tommy G. Thompson Center on Public Leadership, which brings conservative speakers to campus. Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney is also running as a Republican candidate for the AG office.
Waupun Utilities Customer Survey
Waupun Utilities is conducting a residential survey to gather insights on overall satisfaction with the local utility. Customers may receive a letter this month asking for their feedback about the quality of customer service the utility provides. Customers are urged to participate in the survey, which will take approximately 10 minutes to complete online. Dieringer Research Group of Brookfield, Wisconsin will mail a letter on utility letterhead to randomly selected customers, which will include a website link to the survey. Those who do not respond may receive a follow-up email to complete the survey. All responses will remain confidential.
