Wisconsin saw a surge of new COVID-19 cases Tuesday with 886 of the 3,308 tests received or nearly 27 percent coming back positive for the coronavirus. The Department of Health Services also reported 8 more deaths bringing the death toll since the pandemic began to 6,648 lives. The DHS also reports 72 people were hospitalized. According to the Wisconsin Hospital Association 241 people are hospitalized in the state’s 136 hospitals with COVID and 64 patients are in intensive care units.

Winnebago County reported 58 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday and 1 death. Fond du Lac County recorded 14 new cases and Dodge County had 18 new cases. Green Lake and Marquette counties both reported 2 new cases and Green Lake County had 1 more death. Waupaca County had 5 new cases and Waushara County had no new cases.
