Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services says 67 of the state’s72 counties saw new COVID-19 cases Thursday as the number of new cases topped 800 for the second time this week. The 806 new cases were 14.5 percent of the 5,545 test results that came back. The state also reported 8 more deaths, which brings the death toll since the pandemic began to 6,815 people. Meanwhile Wisconsin is expected today to surpass 2.5 million people who have received at least one shot of COVID vaccine or 42.8 percent of the population. Of those more than 1.9 million people are fully vaccinated or 33.1 percent of the population.
As of Thursday 40 percent of the Winnebago County residents have gotten at least one shot of COVID vaccine and 31.2 percent are fully vaccinated. In Fond du Lac County those numbers are 36.7 percent and 30.2 percent and in Dodge County 34 percent and 26.8 percent. In Green Lake County 37.6 percent of the residents have gotten at least one shot in the arm and 31 percent are fully vaccinated and in Marquette County those numbers are 36.9 percent and 31 percent. At least one shot has been given to 30.2 percent of Waushara County residents and 26 percent are fully vaccinated while in Waupaca County those numbers are 35.9 percent and 29.5 percent.
