The Milwaukee Bucks have reportedly added to its backcourt. ESPN is reporting the Bucks are signing point guard Jeff Teague. Teague, 32, was waived after the Boston Celtics traded him to the Orlando Magic at the NBA Trade Deadline. The move reunites Bucks’ head coach Mike Budenholzer with Teague after their time together with the Atlanta Hawks.
Former Green Bay Packers safety Morgan Burnett announced his retirement from the NFL Monday, according to the Packers. Burnett spent his first eight seasons with the Packers, then played with Pittsburgh in 2018 and Cleveland in 2019. The Packers selected Burnett in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft out of Georgia Tech. Burnett was a rookie when the Packers won Super Bowl XLV, but was on the injured reserve after a knee injury. Burnett started in all 113 games he played for the Packers, including the post season. In 2014 (125) and 2016 (92) he led the Packers in total tackles, and had nine career interceptions. Burnett was also selected into the Georgia Tech Hall of Fame in 2020.
Joey Logano took the checkered flag Monday at Bristol Motor Speedway for NASCAR’s first Cup Series race at a dirt track in 50 years, He couldn’t see much — visibility was next to nothing during this Monday dust storm — but Logano clung to the familiar bottom lane around the bullring to collect the checkered flag on this NASCAR experiment. Logano got a jump on Denny Hamlin on the overtime restart to earn his third career victory at Bristol in front of reduced capacity sellout of about 30,000 fans. But this was not the Bristol of old, the track had been covered with 2,300 truckloads of red Tennessee clay so that NASCAR could add a dirt track to the Cup schedule for the first time since 1970. Logano became the seventh race winner through seven races this season and gave Team Penske back-to-back victories. Ryan Blaney won in a Penske Ford last week. NASCAR is off for Easter and the Cup Series resumes Saturday night April 10 under the lights at Martinsville Speedway. Martin Truex Jr. is the defending race winner.
Milwaukee Brewers reliever Justin Topa has a flexor strain in his right elbow and will miss at least half the season. It’s another setback for the right-hander who’s had two Tommy John reconstructive surgeries. Topa is seeking a second opinion but the current plan is rehabilitation. Topa left a simulated game in Arizona after just three pitches because of elbow discomfort.

In spring training action on Monday, Milwaukee shutout the Texas Rangers 4-0. Orlando Arcia drove in two runs for the Brewers who managed just five hits. Adrian Houser (1-0) picked up the victory, going 5 2/3 innings. The two teams meet again today in Arlington
The Los Angeles Clippers won their sixth straight game last night, with a 129-105 victory at home over the Milwaukee Bucks. Giannis Antetokounmpo led Milwaukee with 31 points and Khris Middleton added 28 and Donte DiVincenzo scored 22 but it wasn’t enough. Marcus Morris St. led the Clippers with 30 points to lead seven players in double figures. Milwaukee (29-17) has lost three straight but remain in third place in the Eastern Conference, 2 ½ games behind Brooklyn and three games in back of Philadelphia. Los Angeles (32-16) is in third place in the Western Conference, a half-game behind Phoenix and four games in back of Utah. Milwaukee is off tonight before continuing its west coast swing against the Lakers on Wednesday.
In men’s NCAA tournament basketball action on Monday, number one seed Gonzaga beat Creighton 83-65 and USC beat Oregon 82-68. Gonzaga and Oregon meet tonight in quarterfinal action.
