The Real SOBs

The Society of Oshkosh Brewers also known as the S.O.B.’s will be celebrating their 30th anniversary of their founding this year. Mike Engle is the president of the group of home brewers who make their own beer, wine and cider. He says the pandemic has limited their meetings, which have had to be held virtually but still have been good. He says there is an art to making your own home brew, which is also the main appeal. “I think of the satisfaction of having like a cook or somebody else an artist who puts together something whether it be a painting or music it is just like creating your own. So I think that level of satisfaction.” Engle says in the past they did fundraisers for the food pantries in the area and maybe they can do something like that in conjunction with their anniversary celebration, but nothing has been formulated yet. He encourages anyone who would like to know more about the group to visit their website or their Facebook page.
