FDL Man Allegedly Gave Ripon Woman Fentanyl
A 27-year-old Fond du Lac man has been charged in Fond du Lac County court with delivery of Schedule I or II narcotics for allegedly delivering fentanyl to a Ripon woman last August. According to the criminal complaint police were called to an apartment in the 400 block of Eureka Street last August 6th for a medical complaint. When they arrived the victim was pale and sweaty. She admitted to shooting what she thought was heroin. A substance found on tin foil next to a used syringe, cotton ball and currency was sent to the state crime lab which identified it as fentanyl. The victim told police David Bresser had brought the heroin over to share. Bresser is being held in the county jail. He has a preliminary hearing on April 1st.
Children And Vaccine
Health care officials are now running tests on children as young as 6 months old to determine if it safe to vaccinate them against the COVID-19 virus. Ripon Community COVID-19 Task Force member Jeff Puhlmann-Becker says when the pandemic began there was a misconception that children were immune from the virus, but in fact they didn’t show symptoms or seem to spread it to family members. He says health care experts now feel it is safe to vaccinate children against the coronavirus. Puhlmann-Becker says to reach herd immunity 70 to 85 percent of people need to be vaccinated, which will have to include children.
Vaccine A Personal Experience
The state this week is making more people eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine with those 16 and older with certain medical conditions now eligible for the shots. Hometown Broadcastings’s Nick Van Nocker got the Johnson & Johnson vaccine last week at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds Expo Center. He says it was well organized and there were plenty of people to guide you through the different stations you have to go through. Nick says he believes he may have had the virus last spring, but was told at the time it was pneumonia. He also tested positive for the virus in December, but was asymptomatic at the time. He feels the most iimportant thing about all three vaccines is they provide complete protection against hospitalization and death once they reach complete immunity.
