FDL County Safe Restart Could Advance To Phase Three
There’s a good chance that after two weeks of returning to Phase Two of the Fond du Lac County Safe Restart Plan the county will improve to Phase Three today. County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says the county has continued to improve or remain strong in all five key metrics for the benchmark criteria of the dashboard. “If we are still in green or yellow, which is very likely it is a very good possibility that we could be popping into Phase Three for Fond du Lac County starting this Monday at 2 pm. The County’s positivity percentage for the total number of COVID tests is just below 2.8 percent. Mueller says the state recently changed the way it calculates the positivity rate, which is a more accurate depiction of what is going on.
Ripon EMS Chief On Dispatch Transition
Ripon EMS Chief Mitch Matuszeski says there will be a seamless transition when the city transfers its dispatching responsibilities over to Fond du Lac County. He says they’ve formed a committee that is working on the transition, but when the change occurs residents shouldn’t even notice the change but Ripon Guardian Ambulance will still be going out the door when they are dispatched for a medical emergency. As for hiring more people he feels that is something they will do over time, but they will work with the staff that they have as they make the transition. “Personally what I see as far as the future of Ripon EMS is eventually the hiring of some full time employees, no time line for that you know 5 maybe plus years on that.” The transition will likely occur in the fall.
State Representative Dallman Pleased With Committee Assignments
State Representative Alex Dallman says he’s pleased with the committee assignments he was assigned during this session of the state legislature. He will be serving as Vice Chairman of the Colleges and Universities Committee. “I asked to have that since we have Ripon College here in the district as well as having, well everywhere around the state has their technical college areas but in the 41st District we have three different technical college districts.” He’s also serving on the Tourism, Regulating Licensing Reform, Sporting Heritage, and Science Technology and Rural Broadband committees. The state lawmaker from Green Lake says he wanted to serve on the Science Technology and Rural Broadband Committee because of increased importance of broadband access during the pandemic.
