FDL Police Chief Bill Lamb Retiring

29 March 2021 News

Fond du Lac Police Chief Bill Lamb announced Friday he will be retiring in May after 33 years in law enforcement. Over 20 of those years were spent as a Chief of Police 10 of those years with the Village of North Fond du Lac and since 2011 as Fond du Lac Police Chief. Lamb says he reached retirement age last summer and had intended to retire at the end of 2020. However, the pandemic, extreme civil unrest and violence, and a number of related and very serious challenges for law enforcement kept him from retiring. He says there have been many successes during his career made possible by great co-workers and community support. The City of Fond du Lac Police and Fire Commission will hold a special meeting next week to formally accept Lamb’s retirement notice.
