FDL County Board Approves Resolutions For Transfer Of Ripon Dispatch Services
18 March 2021 News
The Fond du Lac County Board approved two resolutions Tuesday night that pave the way for the City of Ripon to transfer its dispatch services to the county. County Board Chairperson Marty Farrell noted for many years Ripon has been the only municipality in the county that was providing its own dispatch services while the county was handling all the others. County Board Supervisor Tom Dornbrook told the board he thought the transfer of dispatch services would benefit both the City of Ripon and all Fond du Lac County emergency services to be on the same page. Farrell, who is a Ripon resident, also praised County Communications and Emergency Management Director Bobbi Hicken for “going the extra mile” in providing Ripon officials with all the information they needed to make a decision about transferring the services. The two resolutions passed on a pair of 24 to nothing votes. The change to county dispatch services could save the City of Ripon nearly $4 million over the next 10 years.
