COVID 19 FDL County Jail Outbreak Contained

Fond du Lac County Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says a COVID-19 outbreak at the County Jail that initially involved two dorms did not spread to any other dorms or housing units. He says all positive inmates have fully recovered, with just a few experiencing minor symptoms. At the current time only one inmate of the 266 in custody is COVID-19 positive, and that inmate remains under coronavirus healthcare protocols with no symptoms. Waldschmidt noted their correctional staff, working closely in conjunction with jail nursing staff, used their training, policy, and equipment to mitigate the outbreak. He commended them for the job they’ve done.
