Buechel Seeks Another Term As FDL County Executive

Allen Buechel says he’s spent much of his life dedicated to making Fond du Lac County a great place to live, work and play and he would like to continue to do that for an eighth term as County Executive. He says the biggest issue facing the county now is the epidemic and restoring jobs and the economy once life starts to get back to normal. A USA Today poll last year ranked the county #1 in job growth, but he says a number of people lost their jobs in the past year. He says in addition the county faces a shortage of skilled workers needed to fill some jobs so an effort is underway to attract workers from outside the county. He also points out that opioid addiction is still a problem and the county is partnering with Green Lake and Waushara counties on a program that will bring professional help into the jails to work with inmates that have addiction issues.
