Thursday was another slow day for sturgeon spearing on Lake Winnebago with only 27 fish harvested during the 13th day of the season. It was second to day 10 for the lowest daily harvest on Lake Winnebago this season. A total of 1,324 fish have been taken on Lake Winnebago and 1,688 on the Winnebago System. Daily harvest totals are expected to pick up for the final weekend of season. The biggest fish harvested on Lake Winnebago Thursday belonged to Russell Ory and it came to 137 pounds and measured 80.9 inches in length. One other fish Thursday weighed over 100 pounds bringing the number of 100 pound plus sturgeon speared during the season to 69.
