Sturgeon Season Day 9

The sturgeon spearing season closed on the Upriver Lakes Saturday, but will be moving forward on Lake Winnebago as it entered its ninth day on Sunday. Yesterday saw 100 fish speared on Lake Winnebago and increased the total number of sturgeon harvested on Lake Winnebago to 1,202 and system wide to 1,566. The largest fish harvested on Lake Winnebago Sunday was speared by Tony Gishkowsky who took a female sturgeon weighing 138.3 pounds and measuring 80.1 inches in length. With four more fish weighing 100 pounds harvested Sunday the total number of fish taken during the season weighing 100 pound or greater reached 67.
