Sturgeon Season Day 4
17 February 2021 Sports
DNR officials say a total of 124 sturgeon were speared during Day 4 of the season Tuesday. Ninety-seven of those were from Lake Winnebago and 27 came from the Upriver Lakes. Yesterday’s harvest on the Upriver Lakes leaves just 20 adult females and 27 males remaining to reach the 90 percent trigger to close the season on those lakes. Lake Poygan yielded the biggest fish yesterday a 150.5 pound 80.1 inch long female sturgeon taken by Larry Mirsberger. Christopher Garrison (pictured) had the largest fish on Lake Winnebago Tuesday a 129.6 pound female that measured 74.1 inches in length.
