3 February 2021 News
Bond was set at $25,000 cash for a 41-year-old Ripon man whose residence was the subject of the execution of a search warrant by the U.S. Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives last week. John Postl made his initial appearance in Fond du Lac County court Monday on a felony possession of methamphetamine charge stemming from the January 27th search of a residence in the 400 block of East Jackson Street. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for next Thursday. According to the criminal complaint ATF agents were granted a warrant because Postl was suspected of making explosives and “zip guns.” During the search 3.8 grams of methamphetamine was found and 38 grams of powder that was thought to be cocaine, but didn’t conclusively test positive for the drug. Postl was convicted in 2010 in Winnebago County for narcotics possession.
