State Health officials say new COVID-19 cases remained low Wednesday and hospitalizations dropped, but there were also 35 more deaths. With those deaths the Wisconsin’s death toll from the pandemic is at 6,129 people. As for new cases there were 821 or 14 percent of the 5,813 test results that came back. While new cases remained under 1,000 for a fifth straight day that was the most cases in four days. The state’s Department of Health Services reported 69 people were hospitalized. The Wisconsin Hospital Association says there is 489 COVID patients in state hospitals with 127 in intensive care. The number of hospitalizations is the lowest since September 22nd.
Winnebago County reported 5 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday and one death. Fond du Lac and Dodge counties both had 18 new cases each. Green Lake County reported 1 new death and Marquette County had no new cases. Waupaca County had 5 new cases and the Waushara County Health Department reported 1 new case and 1 death.
