For a tenth straight day Wisconsin reported fewer than 2,000 new COVID-19 cases. In fact Monday it was much less with 750 new cases or 19.6 percent of the 3,820 test results that came back. It’s the lowest one-day total outside a holiday period since September 8th. One death was also reported putting the state’s death toll due to the virus at 5,897 people. The state’s Department of Health Services also says 551,963 shots of vaccine have been given since mid-December. Thirty-nine people were hospitalized. The Wisconsin Hospital Association says 686 patients are hospitalized with the coronavirus and 146 are in intensive care.
Winnebago County reported 13 new COVID-19 cases Monday. Fond du Lac County had 44 new cases since last Friday and Dodge County recorded 23 new cases over the same period. Green Lake County had no new cases and Marquette County had 1 new case. Waupaca County recorded 5 new cases and the Waushara County Health Department says it has had 6 new cases since last Friday.
