Ripon Fire Chief Home After Battle With Coronavirus
12 January 2021 News
Ripon Area Fire District Chief Tim Saul got a hero’s welcome as he arrived home after spending 32 days battling COVID-19 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah. More than 70 nurses and doctors cheered him on as he was ushered out of the hospital by wheelchair Monday afternoon. When he got back to Ripon he got a surprise when more than a dozen emergency vehicles including fire trucks and law enforcement vehicles from throughout Fond du Lac County paraded past his home. Even though Chief Saul took precautions he contracted the coronavirus in early December. He says he didn’t realize how sick he was. He’s hoping to get back to work in a month or two. His recovery will include taking oxygen and doing therapy. (Photos from ThedaCare)
