With 60 more deaths Wednesday Wisconsin surpassed 5,000 total deaths from COVID-19. Since the first deaths in March the state has seen a total of 5,039 from the coronavirus. The Department of Health Services says it got 9,974 test results back yesterday and 34 percent of those tested or 3,406 people tested positive for COVID. New cases were found in 70 of the state’s 72 counties. Since the first patient tested positive for the virus last February 5th there have been a total of 494,747 confirmed cases. The state also saw 175 more people hospitalized yesterday and there are a total of 1,128 patients hospitalized with COVID and of that 243 are in ICU.
Winnebago County reported 26 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday and 2 more deaths. Fond du Lac County reported 70 new cases yesterday and Dodge County 54 new cases. One new case was recorded in Green Lake County and 9 in Marquette County. Waupaca County reported 21 new cases and the Waushara County Health Department says it had 5 new COVID-19 cases.
