State health officials say 1,525 tests or 30 percent of the 5,081 test results they got back Tuesday came back positive for the COVID-19 virus. The state is averaging 1,895 new cases a day, which is the lowest 7-day average since December 26th. Forty-two people died from the virus, which is just under the 7-day average of 43 for the past 7 days. The cumulative death toll now stands at 5,512 state residents. The Department of Health Services says 114 people were hospitalized. The Wisconsin Hospital Association reports 865 COVID-19 patients in the state’s 134 hospitals with 203 in intensive care.
Winnebago County reported 33 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday and 1 death. Fond du Lac County recorded 42 new cases and Dodge County had 16 new cases. Green Lake County had 2 new cases and Marquette County reported 1 new case. Waupaca County yesterday reported 11 new cases and 1 death and the Waushara County Health Department recorded 5 new cases.
