State health officials say 25 percent of the 8,687 people recently tested for the COVID-19 virus or 2,177 have the virus. Thursday was the first time in a week the state has had more than 2,000 new cases in a single day, but the 7-day average is at 1,731 cases the lowest it has been since September 20th. Forty-five people died from the coronavirus putting the death toll at 5,607 people, but the 7-day average is at 45 deaths. The Department of Health Services yesterday said 82 people were hospitalized with COVID symptoms. The Wisconsin Hospital Association reports a total of 808 patients with 173 in ICU.
Winnebago County reported 74 new COVID-19 cases Thursday. Fond du Lac County recorded 27 new cases and Dodge County had 33 new cases. Two new cases were reported in Green Lake County and 1 in Marquette County. Fourteen new cases were recorded in Waupaca County and the Waushara County Health Department had 5 new cases.
