Now that the state has seen 50 percent of the population tested at least once for COVID-19 the number of new tests being taken is dwindling. Wisconsin Department of Health Services officials say of the 5,454 new test results they got back Monday 26.7 percent or 1,456 people tested positive for the coronavirus. New cases were reported in 65 of the state’s 72 counties. Five more deaths were also reported bringing the toll since the pandemic began to 5,162 people in the state. There were 56 new COVID-19 hospitalizations. The Wisconsin Hospital Association reports a total of 1,017 hospitalizations with 221 of those patients in ICU.

Winnebago County reported 46 new COVID-19 cases Monday. Fond du Lac County confirmed it had 104 new cases since last Friday and Dodge County has had 87 new cases since then. No new cases were reported in Green Lake County, but Marquette County had 3 new cases. Waupaca County recorded 19 new cases yesterday and the Waushara County Health Department says it had no new cases.
