The Green Bay Packers moved to 9-3 Sunday afternoon after defeating the Philadelphia Eagles at home by a score of 30-16. Aaron Jones rushed for 130 yards and delivered a clinching 77-yard touchdown run with 2:36 left as the Green Bay Packers withstood a fourth-quarter comeback attempt by the Eagles.  Also, Aaron Rodgers connected with Davante Adams on two of his three touchdown passes and reached a couple of career milestones to help Green Bay hand the Eagles, who are now 3-8-1 their fourth consecutive loss. On the week of his 37th birthday, Rodgers threw his 400th career touchdown pass, becoming the fastest quarterback in NFL history to do so.  He also became the first quarterback in league history to have five seasons with 35 or more touchdown passes.  And Adams?  He Brought the potential milestone to his teammates’ attention 4 hours before the game and told them that whoever scored on Rodgers’ 3rd TD strike of the day, he was going to save that ball for the QB and make the moment special.

And after this milestone? Rodgers is always looking towards his next. And he said he wants to have 500 touchdown passes before he hits 100 career interceptions. Right now he has 400 scores and 88 picks. Could he really throw 100 more before getting a dozen interceptions? Well, his last 100 scores have come against just 10 picks.  This year Rodgers has 36 touchdown passes and only 4 interceptions and is on pace for the best stats of his career. The NFL MVP award will likely come down to a battle between the State Farm quarterbacks: Rodgers and Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes.

And the Packers offense, as a whole, is experiencing a golden age. Adams surpassed 1,000 yards receiving Sunday. Aaron Jones exceeded 1,000 yards from scrimmage during the game. And tight end Robert Tonyan took over the tight end touchdown lead with 8 TD catches. Adams also made history Sunday as becoming one of the only players in the Super Bowl era with 1,000 or more receiving yards and 12 or more touchdowns in their first 10 games of a season.

Kingsley Keke had two of the Packers’ seven sacks. The Packers were also helped out in the fourth quarter by Darnell Savage, who nabbed his third interception in two games. Also kicker Mason Crosby moved into 10th place in NFL history with 629 on his first PAT of the day.

The Eagles took a 3-0 lead on the opening possession of the game and led at the end of the first quarter.  The Packers took the lead early in the second quarter on a one-yard pass from Rodgers to Adams.  They tacked on another touchdown later in the quarter as Rodgers hit a wide-open Robert Tonyan on a 25-yard scoring play  to lead at the half, 14-3.  In the third quarter Rodgers would hit Adams for a nine-yard touchdown and Mason Crosby kicked a 40-yard field goal for a 23-3 lead.  Eagles starting quarterback Carson Wentz was replaced by rookie Jalen Hurts who led Philadelphia on a nine-play, 83-yard scoring drive early in the fourth quarter and hit Greg Ward for a 32-yard touchdown to make it 23-10.  Later, Jalen  Reagor would return a punt 73 yards for a score to make it 23-16, before Jones would scamper 77 yards for the game’s final points.  Afterwards, Eagles coach Doug Pederson would not commit to his starting quarterback for their next game.

The Packers will play in Detroit next Sunday at 3:25 p.m. The Lions are now 5-7 after defeating the Chicago Bears Sunday afternoon by a score of 34-30.   Minnesota won at home in overtime over Jacksonville 27-24.

Last night Kansas City hung on home over Denver 22-16.  There are two games today as Washington plays at undefeated Pittsburgh with the kickoff at 4:00 CDT and later Buffalo is at San Francisco and tomorrow night Dallas plays at Baltimore.

In the NFC North, the Packers continue to have a three game advantage in their lead.

The Vikings are 6-6, and are followed by the Bears and the Lions, who are each 5-7.

Green Bay Packers center Corey Linsley has gone on injured reserve after hurting his knee during a victory over the Chicago Bears last weekend. The move announced by the Packers on Saturday means Linsley must sit out at least the next three games, ending his string of 68 consecutive regular-season starts. Linsley has played a vital role on a Green Bay offensive line that has yielded just 12 sacks this season, helping the Packers (8-3) score a league-leading 31.7 points per game. When Linsley left the Bears game Sunday, the Packers responded by shifting Elgton Jenkins from left guard to center, with rookie sixth-round pick Jon Runyan entering the game at left guard. In other moves Saturday, the Packers elevated guard Ben Braden and tight end Dominique Dafney from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday’s game with the Philadelphia Eagles (3-7-1).  Braden was elevated as a COVID-19 replacement.

Jack Tuttle threw two touchdown passes in his first career start and Indiana’s defense made a stand in the final minute as the 10th-ranked Hoosiers outlasted No. 18 Wisconsin 14-6 on Saturday. Indiana’s victory snapped a 10-game skid in this series and enabled the Hoosiers (6-1, CFP No. 12) to tie a program record with its sixth Big Ten victory of the season. Indiana also earned six Big Ten wins in 1967 and 1987. The Hoosiers hadn’t beaten Wisconsin since 2002. Wisconsin (2-2, No. 16 CFP) drove deep into Indiana territory on its final drive, but Graham Mertz’s fourth-and-10 pass to Chimere Dike from the 21 was broken up by Reese Taylor in the right corner of the end zone with 46 seconds left. The Badgers drove inside Indiana’s 40-yard line on five possessions but had just six points to show for it.  Tuttle went 13 of 22 for 130 yards with a 1-yard touchdown pass to Peyton Hendershot and a 7-yard scoring strike to Whop Philyor. The Utah transfer was starting in place of Michael Penix Jr., who tore his anterior cruciate ligament last week in a 27-11 victory at Maryland. Penix had thrown for 1,645 yards and 14 touchdowns while helping Indiana win five of its first six games.

Jalen Berger rushed for 87 yards and Collin Larsh had field goals of 28 and 29 yards for Wisconsin, which lost its second straight. Mertz went 20 of 34 for 202 yards but also threw an interception and lost a fumble.

The Badgers suffered a major blow early in the game when starting center Kayden Lyles was carted off the field with a leg injury, forcing them to turn to freshman Tanor Bortolini.

Indiana entered the day with a Big Ten-leading 18 takeaways and used an early turnover turnover to take the lead for good.  Wisconsin had moved the ball to Indiana’s 39-yard line when Tiawan Mullen sacked Mertz and knocked the ball loose. James Mullen recovered the fumble at the Indiana 47.  The Hoosiers proceeded to cap a 53-yard touchdown drive with Tuttle’s pass to Hendershot in the right corner of the end zone. Tuttle had kept that drive going by converting a pair of third-and-1 keepers.  Indiana extended the lead to 14-3 on the opening possession of the second half as Tuttle found Philyor on third-and-goal.  Indiana squandered an opportunity early in the fourth quarter to pull away when Miles Marshall got well behind the Indiana defense but dropped what likely would have been a 57-yard touchdown pass.  The Badgers outgained Indiana 342-217 but couldn’t capitalize on their opportunities.

Justin Lewis scored 18 points and converted a putback off a missed free throw at the buzzer as Marquette knocked off No. 4 Wisconsin 67-65 on Friday night. Marquette’s D.J. Carton was just inside the 3-point arc when he drew a foul from Wisconsin’s D’Mitrik Trice with nine-tenths of a second left. Carton made the first free throw and his second attempt bounced off the rim. Lewis got into the paint and tapped the ball with his right hand. The freshman’s shot hit the front of the rim and went off the backboard before falling through the basket as his teammates mobbed him. Marquette (3-1) earned its first victory over a top-5 team since beating No. 1 Villanova 74-72 on Jan. 24, 2017. The Golden Eagles also snapped Wisconsin’s 11-game winning streak, which began late last season. The lead changed hands six times in the final 70 seconds, and neither team led by more than six points. Trice led Wisconsin (3-1) with 17 points, while Jonathan Davis scored 12 and Nate Reuvers added 11. Lewis had eight rebounds to go along with his 18 points. Carton scored 12 points and Jamal Cain added 10.
