Wisconsin will pass another COVID-19 milestone today when it records its 400,000 case of the coronavirus. The 4,618 new cases Thursday put the state within 300 cases of that mark. The new cases were 38.5 percent of the 11,972 test results that came back yesterday and were well above the 7-day average of about 3,600 new cases. Sixty more deaths were also reported putting the death toll at 3,562 people. The state also reported 172 new hospitalizations and the number of total hospitalizations declined to 1,754 COVID patients with 376 in intensive care.
Winnebago County reported 109 new COVID-19 cases Thursday and 4 additional deaths to push its total cases to 13,394 and its death toll to 121 people. Fond du Lac County saw no new deaths yesterday, but did report 128 new cases to put its total cases at 8,767 with 52 deaths. Dodge County recorded 165 new cases yesterday to give it 8,622 total cases with 75 deaths. A dozen new cases were reported in Green Lake County, which has 1,204 cases with 6 deaths. Eight new cases in Marquette County put its total cases at 1,040 with 15 deaths. Waupaca County had 17 new COVID cases to give it 3,828 total cases with 126 deaths. The Waushara County Health Department reported 13 new cases and it has had 1,771 total cases and 10 deaths since the health crisis began.
