Nearly 47 percent of the COVID-19 test results the state got back Sunday tested positive for the virus. Department of Health Services officials say 2,287 people tested positive out of the 4,902 who were recently tested. The 2,000 plus new cases came a day after the state reported fewer than 1,000 new cases in a day for the first time in months. Nine more deaths were also reported bringing the death toll since the first deaths were reported in March to 4,692 persons. Ninety-five more people were hospitalized with 1,088 current hospitalizations and 239 of those patients in ICU.

Winnebago County reported 24 new COVID-19 cases Sunday as it nears 15,000 total cases. Fond du Lac County did not report any new cases yesterday, but is expected to update its total cases for the holiday weekend today. Dodge County had 26 new cases. Eleven new cases were recorded in Green Lake County and Marquette County had 2 new cases. Waupaca County had 30 new COVID cases and the Waushara County Health Department reported 9 new cases.
