Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services says the Thanksgiving holiday slowed down test results and as a result the number of new COVID-19 cases being reported in the state. For example of the 8,740 new test results Monday 29 percent or 2,534 tested positive for the coronavirus. That’s the fewest test results since October 5th, but 68 of the state’s 72 counties did report new cases. The state reported six more deaths yesterday bringing the death toll since the pandemic began to 3,313 people. Officials also reported 96 hospitalizations the third time in 10 days that number has dipped below 100. A total of 1,845 people are hospitalized with COVID and of that 395 are ICU patients.
Winnebago County reported 55 new COVID-19 cases Monday to put their total cases at 13,154 with 107 deaths. Fond du Lac County is reporting 333 new cases since last Wednesday to give it 8,436 total cases with 45 deaths. Dodge County has had 147 new cases since last Friday to push its total cases to 8,358 with 71 deaths. One new case was reported in Green Lake County yesterday to give it 1,184 total cases with 6 deaths. Four new cases were recorded in Marquette County, which has 1,026 totals cases and 15 deaths. Waupaca County reported 22 new cases Monday and has had 3,767 total cases with 119 deaths. The Waushara County Health Department reported 7 new cases and has 1,749 total cases and 10 deaths since the health crisis began.
