Thanks to the continued support of residents in Ripon and surrounding communities, The Foundation for Ripon Medical Center raised nearly $13,000 to help provide respiratory equipment at Ripon Medical Center. The virtual raffle drawing – conducted November 4 – was shown on Agnesian HealthCare’s Facebook page live.
The following individuals were randomly drawn as prize winners:
- Grand Prize – 14 karat gold & diamond pendant, donated by Diedrich Jewelers ($1,240 value): Lois Quinney, Ripon
- Second Place – $500 Dear Prudence Gift Card, donated by Dear Prudence: Kim Soda, Princeton
- Third Place – Dine Around Town Package – $150 in gift certificates to Ripon area businesses: Bob Mathia, Ripon
- Fourth Place – 30″x 60″ contemporary art canvas: Rhonda Perr, Ripon
- Fifth Place – $100 Cash: Ellen Sorensen, Ripon
Funds will be used to purchase BiPap (bilevel positive airway pressure) machines to help patients with medical concerns making it hard to breathe, like COVID-19.
A BiPap machine can help push air into the lungs. Patients wear a mask or nasal plugs that are connected to the machine. The BiPap supplies pressurized air into the airways. This equipment can be vital to keep patients from having an airway placed and placed on a ventilator.
“Ripon Medical Center has been working to ensure that we remain in the best position to manage individuals with COVID-19 symptoms, as well as other health concerns,” according to DeAnn Thurmer, president of Ripon Medical Center and Waupun Memorial Hospital. “Having this technology readily available will allow us to quickly and effectively help individuals in need. We appreciate the community’s continued support of the hospital and assistance to have quality services locally for the convenience of area individuals and families.”
Sponsors include: C.D. Smith Construction, Century 21 Properties Unlimited, Dear Prudence, Diedrich Jewelers, Hillside Dental Associates, Oberreich Foundation, Shea Electric & Communications, LLC, Stuart’s Landscaping & Garden Center, Inc. and Webster’s Marketplace.
“We appreciate everyone who stepped forward to help us achieve our goals, especially in light of COVID-19,” says Shawn Fisher, The Foundation for Ripon Medical Center executive director. “I am always so grateful that whenever we reach out to the Ripon community to help the hospital, the response is always so gratifying and humbling. In the end, our patients and their families are the ultimate benefactors.”
