Wisconsin set a new daily record for the number of new COVID-19 cases Tuesday with 5,771or 27.3 percent of the record 21,115 new test results that were returned. Since February 238,067state residents have tested positive for the coronavirus. Another 52 deaths were also reported putting that toll at 2,102 people. During the past week the state has averaged 35 deaths a day. The state’s Department of Health Services also reports 247 more people were hospitalized, which is another single day record for Wisconsin. According to the Wisconsin Hospital Association 1,714 COVID patients were in hospitals Tuesday and 347 were in ICU.
Winnebago County reported 143 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday to bring its total cases to 9,664 with an additional 7 deaths raising the death toll to 73 people. Fond du Lac County recorded 133 new cases to give it 5,516 total cases with 23 deaths. Dodge County is nearing 5,000 total cases the 137 new cases it reported yesterday give it 4,981 with 36 deaths. Fifteen new cases were reported in Green Lake County, which puts its total cases at 843 with 4 deaths. Fourteen new cases and 3 additional deaths were recorded in Marquette County pushing its total cases to 726 with 5 deaths. Waupaca County adjusted its total cases now reporting 2,776 with 64 deaths. The Waushara County Health Department recorded 189 new COVID cases to put its total cases at 1,304 with 5 deaths since the health crisis began.
