State health officials say the 4,389 new COVID-19 cases reported Monday were the fewest in a week, but the 35.7 percent positivity rate for the 12,298 test results that came back was slightly higher than the 7-day average. New cases were reported in 68 of the state’s 72 counties. Twelve more deaths were also reported only the fourth time in two weeks it has been less than 30 in a day. The coronavirus has now claimed 2,649 lives in Wisconsin. Meanwhile hospitalizations reached an all-time high with 2,274 and 456 patients, another record, are in ICU.
Winnebago County reported 99 new COVID-19 cases Monday, which puts its total cases at 11,880 with 91 deaths. Fond du Lac County has had 503 new cases since last Friday to give it a total of 7,447 with 33 deaths. Forty people in the county are currently hospitalized with the virus. Dodge County has reported 408 new cases since last Friday and has had 6,778 total cases and 53 deaths. Fourteen new cases were reported in Green Lake County Monday, the county has 1,062 total cases and 4 deaths so far. Seven new cases were recorded in Marquette County, which now has 932 total cases and 7 deaths. Waupaca County had 167 new cases since last Friday and 13 additional deaths to put its total cases at 3,447 and its death toll at 100 people. The Waushara County Health Department reports 40 new COVID cases since last Friday pushing its total cases to 1,601 with 6 deaths since the outbreak began last February.
