The death toll from the COVID-19 virus in Wisconsin will eclipse 1,400 today. State Department of Health Services officials reported 18 new deaths Tuesday putting the total since the pandemic began at 1,399. New cases once again surpassed 2,000 with 2,020 people testing positive out of the 11,559 test results that were returned or nearly 17.5 percent of the test results. The total number of cases in the state since February 5th now stands at 136,379. Of those 24,589 cases are active.
Winnebago County reported 242 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday bringing its total cases to 5,335 and three new deaths put the county’s toll at 37 people. Fond du Lac County recorded 31 new cases giving it 2,533 total cases with 14 deaths. Nineteen new cases in Dodge County give it 2,226 cases with 19 deaths. Green Lake County reported 10 new cases, which gives it 376 total cases. Three new cases in Marquette County put its total cases at 348 with 1 death. Waupaca County recorded 40 new cases yesterday giving it 1,458 total cases and 22 deaths. The Waushara County Health Department reported 10 new cases putting its total cases at 481 with 3 deaths since the health crisis began.
