Some of the key metrics in COVID-19 reporting for the state’s Department of Health Services were down slightly Thursday. The state reported 22 more deaths bringing the death toll since the pandemic began to 1,703, but that was lower than the past seven day’s average of 27 deaths. Wisconsin also saw 3,413 new cases or 22 percent of the 15,495 test results that came back, also down a bit. All but one of the state’s 72 counties reported new cases yesterday. The Wisconsin Hospital Association says the total number of hospitalizations is 1,230 with 328 of those patients in intensive care units.

Winnebago County will surpass 8,000 total COVID-19 cases today. It reported 182 new cases Thursday giving it 7,989 total cases with 53 deaths.  Thirty new cases were reported in Fond du Lac County, which puts its total cases at 3,825 with 19 deaths. Dodge County recorded 99 new cases yesterday and 1 new death to bring its total cases to 3,379 with 24 deaths. Twenty-one new cases in Green Lake County put its total cases at 653 with 2 deaths. Nineteen new cases were added to Marquette County’s total bringing it to 556 cases with 2 deaths. Waupaca County reported 53 new COVID cases and 1 new death to put its total cases at 2,193 with 37 deaths.  The Waushara County Health Department recorded 30 new cases to give it 867 total cases and 4 deaths since the health crisis began.
