State Department of Health Services officials say nearly 1,700 people tested positive for COVID-19 Monday. Of the 8,560 tests that came back 19.8 percent or 1,696 were positive for the virus. A total of 134,359 state residents have tested positive for the coronavirus since the outbreak began in early February with 24,589 active cases. Another 108,371 people are considered recovered. The state also reported four new deaths Monday putting the death toll from the virus at 1,381 people.
Winnebago County surpassed 5,000 total COVID-19 cases Monday with 303 new cases giving it 5,193 total cases and 34 deaths. Fond du Lac County has had 120 new cases since last Friday putting its total cases at 2,502 with 14 deaths. Dodge County reported 122 new cases since Friday pushing its total cases to 2,207 and also had 1 new death giving it a total of 19 deaths. Thirteen new cases were reported in Green Lake County yesterday giving it 366 total cases. Three new cases were recorded in Marquette County, which has had 345 cases and 1 death. Waupaca County Public Health Services updated its COVID numbers Monday and has had 1,418 cases and 22 deaths. Since last Friday Waushara County has reported 28 new cases raising its total cases since the health crisis began to 471 with 3 deaths.
