Princeton Fatal Fire Victim Identified

Princeton Police have released the name of the 92-year-old woman who died in a house fire at 131 West Main Street last Saturday morning. Joyce Des Jardins was still in the home when police and firefighters arrived at the scene. A police officer and firefighter entered the front of the residence on their stomachs in zero visibility to try and locate her.  The officer stayed until exhaustion and passed pertinent information along to the Princeton Fire first responding rescue team. The rescue team located Joyce. She had succumbed to fire-related events. The County Coroner pronounced her dead at the scene. The Red Cross assisted the family. The fire investigation revealed the fire started from candle-related materials. The blaze is being listed as accidental.
