Person Of Interest In Markesan Robbery In Custody

29 September 2020 News

A person of interest has been taken into custody in connection with the armed robbery of Ted’s Piggly Wiggly in Markesan Sunday night. Markesan Police Chief Will Pflum says that person was taken into custody on a warrant from the Department of Corrections. No formal charges have been requested yet from the Green Lake County District Attorney’s Office. Pflum says even before they posted surveillance photos of the suspect on their Facebook page they were getting tips from the community, which he says were greatly appreciated. “To them they may be like ‘Well I guess it is probably nothing,’ but as we’ve all heard before sometimes what you think is nothing is something huge to us and that’s exactly what’s happened in this case.” The suspect police were looking for was a white male wearing a surgical mask and sunglasses. Pflum says most important no one was harmed during the robbery. The suspect had pointed to what appeared to be a handgun in the waistband of his pants when he demanded money at the store.
